The Senior Business Analyst (BA) will be responsible for overseeing the business implementation of a successful IT solution installation from inception phase to product rollout. The BA will work closely with the client on scoping functional requirements to be implemented. The BA must have deep knowledge of the Financial Services industry, particularly Insurance, and exposure to systems integration of large enterprise business solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clear direction on how the IT solution will work and best ways to meet business requirements needs
- Create technical specifications based on client’s business requirements
- Support solution Implementation and Engineering teams during client implementation
- Manage client’s backlog list and help identify features for upcoming releases
- Mentor new Business Analysts as required
- Participate in solution vision discussions to help develop and prioritise a roadmap for the solution
- Attend project meetings for task tracking
- Work closely with the client project team to report project status, issues, mitigation, and other project related activities
- Work closely with the Engineering team to identify possible features that should be implemented in the core solution
Key Competencies:
-Deep understanding of the Financial Services industry, especially Insurance
-General understanding of policy administration, rating engines, underwriting workflow, and content management
-Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
-Outstanding interpersonal skills
-Ability to work with project and business constraints such as time & scope (previous work in a consulting role is desirable)
-Well versed in IT products used in the full lifecycle of insurance
-Excellent analytical, interpretive and evaluation skills to make appropriate decisions
-Proven track record of innovation, forward thinking and self-motivation
Work Experience:
-6-15 years of experience in commercial or personal lines underwriting and / or business requirements working with both medium and large insurance carriers
-5 years of experience working on enterprise architecture, systems integration or package implementation.
-Consulting experience within an Insurance company
Education Expectations:
-Bachelor Degree or equivalent
